Sangeeta Datta, though based in London, flits in and out of India. A Ph.D. in English literature, she is a trained singer. She founded a film society in London whose aim was to promote and perpetuate a culture of good Indian cinema in the UK. Her debut film “Life Goes On” is a coup of sorts. She is the first director to have Ms Sharmila Tagore and Ms Soha Ali Khan, acting mother and daughter in the film.
